Jim Gaffigan Launches His Own Bourbon, "Fathertime"

If you or someone you know suffers from the condition of fatherhood, Jim Gaffigan might have just the solution & fix for you. The stand-up comedian is joining the spirits game and has announced the launch of his first bourbon, Fathertime.

Gaffigan joins a growing list of fellow stand-ups who've started their own alcohol lines in the past year including Bert Kreischer & Tom Segura's Por Osos vodka (based on the 2 Bears 1 Cave podcast) & Mark Normand & Sam Morril's Bodega Cat whiskey (inspired by their We Might Be Drunk podcast).

What Jim Gaffigan is saying about "Fatherime."

The new bourbon was created from scratch "with no corporate or investor backing" by Gaffigan himself along with fellow bourbon lover & college friend, Stu Pollard. Gaffigan said with the announcement, "I put up my own money and sampled hundreds of barrels because I wanted to create something that I enjoyed drinking, that would be a beautiful addition to anyone’s bar, and would make a great Father’s Day gift."

He humbly continues, "I’m (obviously) not a bourbon expert. But I did do my research and I know what I like. I hand-picked all the bourbon in each autographed bottle of Fathertime. And no, there isn’t some big spirit company behind this adventure. It’s just me and a buddy from college. We got tons of help from smart bourbon people and we’re proud of what we’ve created. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we do."

In a first commercial for the new Fathertime bourbon, Jim assembles his close family & friends (all of whom are either diagnosed with or is highly at risk of "fatherhood") to talk about their painful yet funny experiences with being a dad while the comic walks through a dark & bourbon friendly bar. Pre-orders for the Fathertime are available & can be secured at fathertime-bourbon.com.

On top of launching Fathertime, Gaffigan has been busy on the road this year working his next hour on his Barely Alive tour. He'll also be starring opposite comedy great Jerry Seinfeld (his directorial debut) for the new highly anticipated Netflix comedy, Unfrosted, premiering on May 3rd.

So when I’m having the heal of the last loaf of bread with some peanut butter that hasn’t been consumed by the little ones…I’d like to wash that sticky mess down in a fatherly way….with “Fathertime.” And if it burns? It means I’m still alive. Boo yah. Try and get me again yeah little basta*ds. Being a grandfather is awesome.
